DEVELOPMENT DIARY SIXTEEN: COBWEB

Welcome back to my sixteenth development diary for Cobweb! This week I will discuss the changes that have been made to the game over the past week!

Over the past week our team has been busy fixing any errors, bugs and implementing final features into the game. This week our team has been working to ensure that Cobweb is as polished as possible for next week’s submission date. Our programmer has been busy refactoring code within the game, implementing final features and fixing performance issues that are currently occurring within the game.

One of the main aspects of the game that I have been focusing on this week is polishing up the games visual appeal. To do this I have been reworking and decluttering some of the games UI such as score text and pop up scores. I have also been working on all the ordering layers within the game as most of the games assets were overlapping each other in the wrong order. By fixing these ordering layer issues, a noticeable difference can be seen within the game and has given the effect that the game is in a much more polished state. Another task I have been working on this week is implementing the new animated tutorials into the game and also working to implement the image slider into the ingame pause menu.

The Design Documentation has also been another major focus of this week’s tasks as I have been working to ensure that the vast majority of the documentation for the game is completed and ready for final polishing during the next week before submission. Along with all the tasks mentioned above, a lot of testing has occurring within the game this week as our team has been trying to ensure that all aspects of Cobweb are polished to a high standard of work.

Over the remaining week of developing our team will focus on ensuring that all aspects of Cobweb are working as intended, finalising all sound effects within the game and fixing any last remaining bugs that may be occurring.

Don't forget, if you have any feedback, comments or general questions please don't hesitate to comment below or send me an email.

Until Next Week,

- Angie
